Japan part 2 is delayed... serious things are happening.
Things are not looking good. Due to new policies in China with the run up to the Olympics, all visa's now, including those people with permanent Hong Kong ID cards (thats me) have been cut to 30 days maximum duration........ This is terrible news.
2006 I had a one year do as you like, go anywhere visa.....
2007, it went down to 6 months. At the beginning of 2008 it was reduced to 3 months.......that was up until a few weeks ago.
3 months was already going to prove problematic in doing an extended trike tour around China.... having to leave the country every 90 days, when you in the middle of a desert on a tricycle with a dog.
A 30 day visa is basically useless, and can only be extended inside China once. I now also need to prove a hotel booking and return flight tickets.....
Unless I can find a way around this..... China Wheelie until after the Olympics is TOTALLY scuppered..... or I spend a fortune flying in and out every 30 days...
Damn it.......
The exploration continues... This is such a huge, serious set back.. Already I have put things on pause for 1 year..that has been frustrating enough... 2 years... Well... I'm just going to pop !

Yep, you are right. Try as hard as you might, things happen for a reason. I am trying to find a way around it. If I can't then so be it..... Will just have to wait, frustrating as it is.....

Wow! There must be a reason for why these things are happening right now--just trust that it's all going to work out right in the end, however frustrating it is for you at the moment. Hang in there!
