Hong Kong
While the storms in China blast away, covering the country in the worst falls of snow in 50 years. I am preparing to pop up there for Chinese New Year. Like the other 1.3 billion people in China I intend to get where I want to go. Luckily though I am not trying to go by train or bus, thats just madness. With 500,000 people stuck at Guangzhou train station alone, its enough to put you off. I'm flying, I will be flying over the heads of the pushing crowds, over the umbrellas jammed in on the platform, over the menacing clouds that are bringing China to a stand still.
I'll be landing in North China and hopefully getting picked up and driven on the black ice roads to a small town near Qingdao. I'm going to Nono's home, to spend Chinese new year in the cold. I will be making dumplings, going for walks with Ditch and generally relaxing with the whole family.
Looking forward to it. A bit of snow, a bit of a chill, a bit of a noodle, and a bit of an adventure. Fire crackers and food.
I leave tomorrow.... see you up there.
