Mengcheng, Anhui
I'm not going to write a big entry today. I could give you many excuses but the main one is that I'm knackered. I'm bombing through Anhui Province at the speed of a super sonic egg whisk. This entry is light and fluffy, kind of like a meringue.
I haven't got any riding info, that's more of a Christmas pudding ingredient anyway. What I have got how ever is evidence of some strange photographer lurking in this area, releasing images that simply defy explanation. Not me by the way, all though I have photographed the photograph so to speak.
May I introduce Contribution number 3.
A strange arrangement if ever I saw one.
Two perfectly groomed doggies, one on a block of polystyrene, and a rather tasty looking melon resting in the back of a Nissan Diesel truck. What better an image to have on a hotel toilet wall tile? Only a Lychee by its ankle could have improved it, but even then that may be too much.
I've been pedaling down many long roads over the past few days. Mainly flat and straight, with the odd little hill to get you excited.
This is where I am by the way........ Hello !
I've passed through towns, villages and through fields where people have been making hay. Rain clouds have chased me and so have clouds of flies.
The man walking, then scratching his chin and continuing to walk series.
Ditch really is getting bigger and has taken interest in other dogs. No barking though. Not convinced she will be a good guard dog. We shall see.
The family running the hotel.
Spotted this beast of an entrance gate out of my bedroom window and went to investigate.
You can imagine how utterly dominating and over powering it must have been back in the day. No high rises, just low buildings. Even now its very impressive.
Night rolling in, me rolling on.

Love all of the photos, but especially the most recent one of Ditch looking over your shoulder. I think "My Travels with Ditch" would be a good title for your eventual documentary/book. What a story...what a dog! There must be somebody in China who could take care of her later on if need be ...just temporarily until you are headed back to HK and can take her home. But, actually, even as interesting as you are I think many, many people just tune in to see more photos of Ditch growing up.

Plans at the moment are to take Ditch the whole way around China. If she get too big then she'll get a trailer. If it gets too cold then I'll find a home for her until it gets warmer. I am currently designing the winter collection for her. Ditch will be strutting her stuff on the 'dog walk' in a couple of months.
A dog is not just for Christmas seems to spring to mind.

Rob, I'm interested to hear more about your long-term plans with Ms. Ditch. Winter is coming; she's going to get bigger...are you planning on taking her along your entire journey? Are you going to keep her forever?
She's a beauty, and it's a grace you found her. Now I follow along to keep up to date on how she's doing just as much as you! Best of luck.
