Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssss !

Laifeng, Hubei Province

Distance: 48.26km
Cycling time: 4.27 hours
Average: 10.8 km/h
Max: 54 km/h............ I know I shouldn't have, but it was just too tempting.

View from my window.

Woke up late this morning. I'd had a good solid sleep and was ready to push on.

Whilst packing my bags I saw this insect.

I've never in my life seen anything like it. Maybe thats what happens if you eat too many chilies.

Certainly a freindly little beast, but I wouldn't fancy it nibbling in my ear at night...... maybe it did though. as I spotted him crawling out from the corner of my bed, near my pillow. I've heard of bed bugs, but this is rediculous.. ..

Never a dull moment.... Brilliant !

You can't adjust the seating postion easily on a trike, so anyone smaller than me has to lie down to reach the pedals.

Climbing up the mountain was beautiful.

If you look in the distance you will see a dark horizontal mass. That's a huge ridge. It dwarfs the already large peaks. Not a patch on the Himalya I'm sure, but it wasn't a bad effort.

Riding along I saw a motorbike tricycle parked up. It had two rocks under its wheels for safety and on the opposite side the passengers were slumped by the road side having a good sleep.

Not sure if that was the best place to crash out, but they seemed pretty comfortable.

I reached the top of the pass and the weather quickly changed to thunder and torrential rain. The sleeping beauties must have had a rude awakening.

Off the mountain slopes and into a valley.

After crossing a small bridge ........... I'd made it.

Yes, thats right. I'm no longer in Hunan. I'm in Hubei Province, not for long though as I'm just passing through one corner to get to Chongqing. Hunan has been a great place to travel through, but it is was well over due that I left.

Hunnan is a good place, isn't it?
Do you feel a little sad or more excited?
Maybe the latter seems more possible, because they are all the parts of China, and they all have something same.
But it is still a new start.
Have a good time in Hubei, too.

How many legs does an insect NEED? That was an exaggerated amount of legs but evolution will surely cut down on them if global warming doesn't get it first. Which it will.
Oh yes, but when we silly buggers have blasted ourselves off the face of this earth through our greed and folly, that multi-legged dude will surely still be around to laugh at us and get on with the 2 million year job it will be to cut its amount of legs down to a reasonable number, unhindered by stupid human bastards.
